English Medium Primary School with ideals based on strong Values
Potchefstroom Central School is an English Medium Primary school which was officially opened on 23 April 1924.
We adhere to the traditions of the school but in keeping with the spirit of change and advancement.
Our ideas are based on the Christian belief but we acknowledge and respect other religions and cultures.
Our school motto “I Serve” incorporates the service of the school to the community and to our country. For the Educators, to the service of the holistic development of the learners, and the service of the learners, to show their respect for the school which will equip them with a sense of balance, a deep respect for the rights of others and a will to strive towards excellence and help build a united nation.
We take great pride in our school, the environment and our country, and strive to instil this into our learners.
Our Educators have a high degree of professionalism and loyalty and lead our learners by example.

- Effective management and administration at all levels and in line with the National and Provincial Policies and all applicable legislation including the South African Schools Act;
- Providing the best possible quality teaching and learning to promote and ensure learners’ progress and achievement;

Excellence in Education
The vision of Potchefstroom Central Primary is to move toward developing excellence in education by providing a model for life-long learning.
We encourage our learners to participate and achieve higher levels of cultural and academics inside and outside our school. We also encourage Learners to participate in various learning scenarios which extend their skills in many different ways: socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. The general academic growth and emotional development of our students serve as a primary focus. Stimulating independent enquiry and intellectual curiosity among both boys and girls form a part of a full curriculum that is also designed to foster cultural awareness, match a love of sport with that of music and the arts, and promote individuality together with a sense of social responsibility.
Through all its years of existence Potch Central Primary has achieved an excellent academic standard.
